CPM
CPM, or cost per mille, is the cost of one thousand ad impressions within a specified campaign scope.
Calculate CPM
CPM = cost ÷ impressions × 1000
Spending £400 for 20,000 impressions gives a CPM of £20. The calculation requires a positive impression count.
Do not substitute reach for impressions. Cost per thousand distinct accounts is a different metric. If the denominator is video views, label the result accordingly.
Compare consistent costs
A creator campaign cost might include fees, production, licensing and agency work. An Ads Manager CPM may include only media spend. State which costs are included before comparing the figures.
Lower CPM does not establish better audience fit or sales. Assess it against the campaign KPI. Use the free creator lookup for available basic profile data, and request private impression reports separately from the creator.
